What Is Salvation In Jesus Christ? The Simplicity of Being Saved

Salvation In Jesus Christ — The Way to Grace

According to English Dictionaries, salvation is the process of being restored. Also, it is where someone is made new to be saved. Aside from that, the English dictionary defines salvation as the process of getting rid of a low-quality condition and becoming improved. But What Is Salvation In Jesus Christ or The Simplicity of Being Saved?

What Is Salvation?

Most people declare themselves as being saved. Unfortunately, they don’t know what salvation means. But what does the Bible reveal about salvation in Jesus Christ? According to the book of Mathew 11:28, the Bible says, ” Come to me all of you with heavy burdens. And I will give you rest. Indeed, Jesus revealed His understanding of our difficulties. And He promises to relieve all people from their problems. Therefore, salvation is a special gift like no other. It is deliverance from the consequences of sin by making it possible for eternal life! The colorful illustration of some of Gods promise's to us.

What Does Salvation Mean?

The Simplicity of Being Saved means to be delivered from the outcomes of sin— which is eternal death. Indeed, salvation is possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s the process that concludes conversion.

Actually, a clear definition of salvation is summed up in one word: Deliverance. When the Israelites left Egypt and reached the Red Sea, the Lord gave them a great assurance through Moses, Exodus 14:13, “standstill, and see God’s salvation.” Here, God gave them physical deliverance from the armies of Egypt.

Basically, salvation describes two significant components in the life of a Christian:

Being delivered from the consequences of sin, — which is eternal death (Romans 6:23), For the price of sin is death. And, the gift of the Almighty God is eternal life, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deliverance from mortality and acquisition of the gift of eternal life, John 3:15 — that whoever believes in Jesus Christ may have eternal life. Also, Romans 6:22 — talks about eternal life that comes as the fruit of salvation.

Therefore, Salvation is essential in a Christian’s life. The Word of God calls it “so great a salvation” (Hebrews 2:3). Typically, salvation is all about how a believer can live a better life today and, eventually, live forever in the future!

What is Man’s Burden?

First of all, we’ve to go back to the original time when God created man. In Genesis 2:7, God formed man from the dust of the ground. Then, He gave him the breath of life, as man became a living being.

On the other hand, different places describe a man as “mortal” (Romans 6:12; 8:11; 2 Corinthians 4:11). Where it is emphasized that all human beings have the same inevitable fate — die. However, salvation shows us that we can be delivered from eternal death.

Indeed, human being (except for Jesus Christ) has sinned. Yes, the Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory” (Romans 3:23). Because the consequences of sin are death. In Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; however, the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Sin makes everyone go through the death penalty. And we can do nothing by ourselves to remove that. Therefore, we need to be delivered from it!

That is where salvation becomes necessary. And it is why Jesus Christ came in human flesh. He came to find and save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

How Jesus Christ Gives us SalvationThe colorful illustration stating no one can enter eternity withiut Jesus.

God, through Jesus, demonstrated His love toward us. Because we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, Romans 5:8.” Jesus lives a life of perfection without sin for us to be saved. It’s by His blood on the cross that salvation has been made possible for all humans. What should we do?

According to Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek the LORD while He’s found. Call unto Him while He’s near. Let the sinner forsake his way. Also, let the unrighteous man forget his thoughts; but return to the LORD, for He’ll have mercy on him.

Therefore, Changing our lives can be an essential part of the salvation process.

Obedience and Salvation

On another occasion, an expert of the law came to challenge Jesus, saying, Luke 10:25 ‘Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternity?’ Jesus answered, ‘What’s written in the law? Therefore, he answered, ‘“You shall love the LORD your God, with all your heart, soul, all your strength, and mind,” then, “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”’ Jesus said to him, ‘You are right; do this, and you will live!”

Salvation

According to 1 John 3:4, (KJV), “Sin is the transgression of the law.” And transgression is the violation of the laws of God together with His way of life. For that reason, we need to try our best to stop sinning so that we can inherit the kingdom of God and avoid the penalty for sin.

Did you read our previous prayers?

Jesus came to die for our sins — which are transgressions that separated us from our God. He reconciled us to God, our Father, by justifying us of the past sins through His blood, which He shed on the cross. Indeed, He paid the price of death for us to have eternal life.

Therefore, when we repent of our sins and accept this sacrifice of Jesus Christ — that He died for us to live, then our salvation, which is our deliverance from eternal death, is made possible.

Finally, What is salvation?

Salvation is a journey to eternal life. It begins when we accept Jesus Christ and confess that Jesus Christ died for our sins. Then, we are delivered from our past sins and their consequences (death). We need to embrace spiritual growth.

If we repent and change and remain faithful for our life, then we’ll receive salvation to the fullest. With salvation, we will be given eternal life at the return of Jesus Christ. Even better, we will be saved from ever facing death again. Now, the question remains for us. Are you on the path to salvation? If not, then say this prayer and believe it in your heart!

Lord Jesus Christ, I am a sinner. And I’ve fallen short of your glory. I know and believe that you died on the cross so that I may have eternal life. I am sincerely thankful, Almighty God, for your most generous gift of salvation, because by the death of your son Jesus Christ, my sins and guilt were taken away. Thank you so much for accepting and saving me for heaven. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that you protect me from temptations and unacceptable habits. I commit my life to you, for I trust in you. In the Mighty Name of the Lord Jesus, I pray and believe. Amen!

Thank you Lord Jesus for everything you have done in my life, and for saving me from a continued life of separated pain and despair without hope. I found my hope peace and eternal salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday of 2010, and now I am complete and equipped to spread the good news. Amen, your brother in Christ, Jack

The greatest blessing in my life is the fact that I was raised in a home where Christianity was discussed, the Bible was read, we prayed together and we worshipped at church nearby. I learned about the need for salvation in my Sunday school but it was really as an adult I came to understand the power of Jesus Christ and what His coming continues to do for me. Thanks for this article which serves as a reminder of the value of salvation and the gift of eternal life.
